NDSU offers Graduate Assistantships to eligible students as funding is available. Graduate assistants are typically full-time graduate students who participate in teaching, research, or administrative activities in the form of employment in exchange for financial support at NDSU. Some assistantships may include teaching or research experiences conducted off-campus or as part of projects between NDSU and external organizations.
Apply by Application: Incoming students may apply as part of their application process and may be hired upon admittance and meeting other requirements. Students who are offered assistantships appointments via their admission letter unofficially accept as part of accepting admission to NDSU.
Apply on Handshake: Graduate assistantship opportunities from across campus will be posted in the Handshake platform as active job searches. You must be an admitted or current student with an NDSU.edu email account to view NDSU positions in Handshake.
NDSU provides scholarship opportunities. Please visit the NDSU Scholarship Application page to learn more. When researching scholarships, be sure to confirm that they are for NDSU Graduate Students and that the specified criteria is met before applying. Be aware of deadlines for the scholarship(s) to which you apply.
Students may explore external sources to fund their education. Many of these processes involve research and an application process. Search for grants, fellowships, and other external funding options, plus set up email alerts regarding funding in your area(s) of interest.
